SunMoksha's Smart NanogridTM won the 2017 Round4 Award from Millennium Alliance to scale up the solutions in Jharkhand and other states. It was one of two energy companies selected in this round, out of dozens of applicants.

SunMoksha selected to develop Smart Panchayat under Jharkhand Smart Gram Scheme

Date: March 2017, Kantashola, Dumaria, East Singhbhum

The rural development department of Jharkhand government kicked off the smart panchayat program in Kantashola village of East Singhbhum district. This is one of the five villages selected for implementation of the government's pilot smart villages. SunMoksha, in collaborations with Kalamandir, was selected to develop the Kantashola smart panchayat. See below the new coverage of the kick-off event in March.

SunMoksha's Smart Village NanogridTM at Chhotkei Village in Odisha, won the 2016 Smart Cities India Awards under the category of Smart Village, on May 13th, at Smart Cities India expo held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This annual award recognizes pioneering projects that aim to make cities and villages more liveable, sustainable, and economically viable by honouring best practices and models. MNRE-DFID Workshop on Access to Energy and Smart NanogridTM

Date: Apr 30, 2016, Angul,Odisha

A Workshop on SunMoksha's Smart NanogridTM (India' First Smart-grid Village) was held at Angul District, Odisha on April 30th, 2016 under MNRE, India - DFID - UK Department for International Development Technical Assistance on Energy Access Policy Fund (EAPF). The workshop was inaugurated by MNRE Secretary Shri Upendra Tripathy and attended by Jt. Secretary Shri Tarun Kapoor and several other officers from MNRE. Also present were Dr. Simon Lucas, Team Leader, UK-DIFD, and Mr. Sanjay Kumar, ED, Climate Parliament. The participant's for the workshop included senior officers from relevant Central Ministries and State Governments of Odisha, Assam, Jharkhand, UP, Bihar and North Eastern States where replication potential is plausible. Representation from other eminent organizations included KfW, GiZ, TERI, Forum for the Future, Shakti Foundation, SSRDP, PwC and CSR Heads from several local PSU's

SunMoksha showcases its Smart NanogridTM at the India Smart Grid Week 2016

SunMoksha showcased its Smart NanogridTM at the recently concluded India Smart Grid Week 2016, in New Delhi. The company was featured under the Innovation Hub to showcase the implementation in the village of Chhoteki, the first such smart microgrid in India. The visitors to the booth were highly impressed at the project features and its technical and social interventions. On March 17, the Union Minister of State, Independent Charge for Ministry of Power, Mr. Piyush Goyal, visited our stall at the innovation hub. In his speech, he highlighted the need for innovations such as Smart NanogridTM, and the need for replication of this model.

SunMoksha implements India's First Smart-Microgrid Village in Odisha

SunMoksha has commissioned India's first Smart-Microgrid Village in January 2016. It is powered by its Smart Village NanogridTM solution and operational at Chhotkei village in Angul district of Odisha.

The Smart NanogridTM manages the operations of the local microgrid including scheduling, metering, billing, payment, differential tariff, and demand-supply management. It also manages micro-enterprises to generate livelihood for the villagers. In addition, it brings the village to the experts & stakeholders' to track the performance in real time and provide technical support as needed. This also brings in transparency in such remote projects so the stakeholders knows the status of the project in real-time. The Smart NanogridTM is powered by a cloud software engine along with IoT hardware solutions working behind it.

Nanosoft Remote Launch!

Nanosoft was launched by the chief guest, Honorable Member of Parliament, Shri Baijayant 'Jay' Panda at a three-day National Seminar on "Dispersed Generation & Smart Grid" (DGSG-2013) held at Center of Excellence for Renewable Energy" located in the Atrium building of NIST campus.

He launched "NanoSoft Remote"- a control system and software for remote monitoring, management, maintenance and operations of rural micro-grids. Mr. Panda took deep interest in rural development through decentralized renewable energy micro-grids and reviewed a proposal presented by Dr. Ashok Das, founder CEO of SunMoksha, to create PURA villages in his district and throughout Odisha using "NanoPower", a flagship solution developed by SunMoksha at NIST.

A regular demonstration of the renewable energy facilities at NIST, including a living laboratory with smart micro-grid, was given to all attendees of the seminar on November 29 & 30, 2013.
